Fire Inside a Rockford Duplex Displaces One, Causes $25,000 in Damage

A fire inside a Rockford duplex leaves one person without a home.

Firefighters responded to 922 23rd Street around 10 o’clock Saturday night. When crews arrived, they found smoke inside the duplex. Fire officials say they were able to extinguish the fire in about 10 minutes.

No one was home at the time and no one was hurt. No word yet on what caused the fire, but officials say it displaced one person who lives in the unit.

The fire caused about $25,000 in damage.
