First Alarm Fire Causes “Major Damage” to Loves Park Home

A large fire in Loves Park leaves two people without a home.

Dozens of firefighters on scene at 402 Clifford Avenue. Crews responded there around 6:30 Saturday night.

Fire officials say they upgraded the blaze to a first alarm fearing the flames had hit the attic. Luckily, that wasn’t the case according to officials, but the fire still caused major damage.

While the cause is still unknown, it’s believed the fire started in either the kitchen or the front room.

A neighbor tells Eyewitness News he called 911 and helped the two elderly homeowners get out safely along with their dog.

No one was hurt.
