Former Genoa Mayor Reaches Plea Deal in Sex Abuse Case

News

A former Genoa Mayor, who inappropriately touched a woman, will avoid jail time.

The Daily Chronicle is reporting David Rood pleaded guilty Tuesday to attempted criminal sexual abuse.  In exchange, he’ll spend the next two years on probation.  This stems from an incident in 2013.  Investigators say Rood inappropriately touched a real estate agent as she showed him a home.

Rood’s required to register as a sex offender.
