Former Rockford non-profit executive pleads Not Guilty to fraud charges

Leilani Hillis, a former executive with the Rockford Area Economic Development Council, entered a plea of Not Guilty in court on Wednesday, on charges of mail and tax fraud.

Investigators say Hillis used an employee issued credit card to spend more than $600,000 on personal items.

She faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
