19-year-old Jakari Smith and 21-year-old Torrence Lewis were arrested Sunday night after an alleged armed robbery to the Rockford Best Buy store.

Rockford Police say they were called to the store, located at 281 Deane Drive, shortly after 7:30 p.m., where they learned from store employees that Smith allegedly loaded a cart with video gaming equipment. When an employee approached him, Smith allegedly implied he had a gun and fled the store in a blue minivan.

The vehicle was stopped by police a short time later at East State Street and Mill Road, where officers took four suspects into custody, including Lewis and a 16-year-old female, who was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.

Smith and Lewis were charged with Aggravated Robbery and taken to the Winnebago County Jail.

The fourth person was released without charges.
