Four Teenagers Arrested After Stealing Car in Rockford

Four teenagers have been arrested after stealing a car Thursday morning.

Police responded to the area of 14th Street and 19th Avenue shorty after 8:45 a.m. for reports of the stolen car. They located the car parked in an alley. When they approached it, four people fled from inside.

All four were pursued and eventually taken into custody. A shotgun was also located in the car.

The following arrests and charges were made:

  • 15-year-old male; criminal trespass to vehicle, resisting arrest.
  • 17-year-old male; unlawful use of a weapon, FOID violation, unlawful possession of a stolen auto and criminal trespass to vehicle.
  • 16-year-old male; unlawful use of a weapon, FOID violation, unlawful possession of a stolen auto, criminal trespass to vehicle, possession of heroin and cocaine with intent to deliver.
  • 14-year-old male; resisting arrest, obstructing justice.

All of the suspects’ identities are being withheld due to their ages.
