Four teens arrested on weapons charges; loaded shotgun recovered

Four teens — one as young as 15 years old — were arrested by Rockford Police on weapons charges after brandishing a shotgun.

On Monday at approximately 5:55 p.m., police officers were called to the 1600 block of 10th Avenue on the report of a subject armed with a shotgun. When police arrived, they learned that the subject had left in a silver vehicle, headed toward 12th Street.

Police officers pulled the vehicle over and searched the car and found a loaded shotgun inside.

Four teens were arrested:

Baranor Douthard, 18; Brian Price, 19; a 16-year-old juvenile male and a 15-year-old juvenile male. All four were charged with Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Violation of the Firearm Owner’s Identification Card and Defacing Identification Marks on a Firearm. The 15-year-old was also charged with possession of marijuana.
