News

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — A state program offers Illinois students free meals during the summer.

The summer food service program provides food to children and teens under 18 whose families meet income eligibility.

Meals are offered at hundreds of sites across the state and have healthy options like fruits, veggies, grains and protein.

The program is funded by community organizations, school districts and outside sponsors.

Families can find sites by texting “FoodIL” to 877-877 or visiting summermealsillinois.org.
