Freeport business burglarized; robbers take cash, safe

The Freeport Police Department is investigating a burglary to a local business in which the robber(s) took cash and an entire safe.

According to the Journal Standard, The Cheese Market at 700 S. West Street was reportedly robbed between 9 p.m. Saturday and 7:45 a.m. Sunday.

The business owner reported finding an open window and a missing safe, along with multiple deposits, cash and paperwork. 

No suspect description was given.
