Freeport to Appoint its First City Manager

The City of Freeport has named its soon-to-be first City Manager.

Lowell Crow has been recommended by the City of Freeport Managerial Form of Government Transition Committee to be the city’s first ever City Manager. He is a decorated Navy Captain that currently holds the position of City Administrator for the City of Monmouth.

On Monday, members of City Council and Mayor Jim Gitz will approve a resolution securing Crow’s employment. He will start on Monday, May 22.

Police Chief Todd Barkalow will assume the position of interim City Manager until Crow’s responsibilities with the City of Monmouth conclude.
