The FBI says that a man considered armed and dangerous who committed a brazen armed robbery in Charlotte, NC has been arrested in Rockford.

An official with the agency says 30-year-old Corey Vega was taken into custody by the Rockford Safe Streets Task Force on Wednesday in the 1300 block of Montague St. after brief foot pursuit.  He is being held in the Winnebago County jail pending extradiction.

According to the ‘Charlotte Observer’, Vega was wanted after he and another man burst into a Charlotte home and robbing the people inside at gunpoint.

The newspaper says the other suspect, 20-year-old Calvin Misenheimer, was captured in October.

The FBI was not able to release the reason they believe Vega fled to Rockford because it is an ongoing investigation.

The ‘Safe Streets Task Force’ is a collaborative effort between Rockford Police and other area law enforcement agencies and the FBI targeted primarily at gang activity.
