Gifts for the gifted: Thurgood Marshall Middle School fundraiser

News

Thurgood Marshall Middle School is known for its programs for gifted students, but the equipment used in those programs need updating. Co-Chairs of Marshall-Rocks, Karol Manley and Sarah Noneveski join Eyewitness News Anchors Kathleen Cohen and Jay Leonardi on set to discuss their fundraising goal.

By the end of the night, Marshall-Rocks hopes to raise at least $28,000 for Thurmond Marshall Middle School. The funds will be used to purchase iPads for classrooms, water bottle fillers, health and wellness technology, and teacher grants.

Manley and Noneveski say the new items will help students thrive academically, physically, and emotionally.

From 7 PM to 11 PM, the community is invited to Prairie Street Brewhouse to partake in a silent auction and karaoke. Tickets are on sale for $40 dollars, and dressing up like a famous rock star is encouraged, but not required.
