Golf Outing Raises $75,000 For Children’s Home

A check presentation shows the strong support the family of a Stateline man who was stabbed to death earlier this year.

The Walter Lawson Children’s Home received $75,000, courtesy of the Joe Pendergrass Golf Outing.  Before Pendergrass’ death, he hosted the Golf Play Day for 10 years to benefit the children’s home where his son has been cared for.

“It’s truly such a worthwhile organization,” Chairman Greg Lundquist.  “You’re helping folks that can’t help themselves. You’re creating a better quality of life for these kids.”

The golf outing set a record for money raised this year.  Over the years, the event has raised more than $200,000 for Walter Lawson Children’s Home.
