Discount chain Gordmans announced Monday they will be filing for bankruptcy, and liquidating their stores.
The Nebraska-based chain has two stateline locations, one in Rockford on E. State and another on 173 in Machesney Park.
Per their bankruptcy agreement, the chain will liquidate its inventory and other assets of its retail stores and distribution centers. They have not given a time frame for when they will close.
In a statement, Gordmans president and CEO said until further notice all stores will operate as usual.
Gordmans has posted losses in five of the last six quarters and had announced job cuts earlier this year.
