Gov. Scott Walker (R-WI) says he’ll throw his support behind Donald Trump if the Republican front-runner becomes the party’s eventual nominee.
The Republican governor endorsed Ted Cruz back in March. Cruz won the Wisconsin primary a week later. Walker says he plans to support the winning Republican candidate, whoever it may be.
“I’ve told people, before the primary here, who I hope that nominee is and that’s the person I hope and strongly believe who will be the nominee and that being Ted Cruz,” said Walker. “But, in the end I’m going to support the Republican running.”
Trump is currently leading Cruz by nearly 300 delegates. Gov. John Kasich is a distant third place.
