Governor Bruce Rauner says he’s willing to compromise over the state’s budget mess by dispersing tax dollars already collected to local governments and lottery winnings.

Rauner said so in a memo Tuesday to lawmakers saying he supports legislation from Democrats that proposed the idea. The legislation also suggests adding money for road salt with winter around the corner. The plan also includes $1.9 billion collected in motor fuel taxes for cities.

Illinois has been without a budget since July 1st.

On Monday, Rauner also announced a compromise for state-subsidized child care.
