There was plenty of cheering on Thursday as East High School graduates walked across the stage this morning at the BMO Harris Bank Center. Many said they were both excited and nervous.
For one specific student-it was even more special-as she is the first member of her family to head to college. These grads even passed on a little advice for those coming after them.
“Never give up, do your best in school, take it serious, really serious and you’ll get through it,” said Carla Zepeda.
“Even though you have struggles going on, you can still do whatever you want in life,” said Louis Roberto Rivera.
Guilford High School also graduated this afternoon.
