33-year-old Samantha Holt has indicted by a Grand Jury Friday for allegedly shooting a 16-year-old teen in December.

Rockford Police say they were called to the area of Arlene Avenue and Richmond Street around 11 p.m. Thursday, December 13th for a ‘shots fired’ call, and once there, located the male victim, who had been shot in the legs.

He was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Police then conducted a follow up investigation which led them to Holt, who had fled the scene on foot. The weapon was recovered.

Police did not reveal Holt’s relation to the victim, but said the case was domestic related.

Holt was charged with Aggravated Battery with a Firearm and Aggravated Domestic Battery, and faces 37 years in prison if convicted.

She was taken to the Winnebago County Jail and is being held on a $500,000 bond. She is scheduled to be arraigned on January 17th.
