Stateliners are getting their Greek on this week at the annual Rockford Greek Fest.
The free event is being held at the Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, which is celebrating their 97th year in Rockford.
Greek Fest has everything from live Greecian music, dancing, and of course food!
Greek Fest officials say they’re really pleased with the turn out so far.
“We had a great crowd last night with one of our times,” said Patty Stadelman, a member of the Public Relations Committee of Greek Fest. “Today and tomorrow we’re gonna have all Greek music, lots of Greek dancing and fabulous free church tours for everybody to see. We want everybody to come down. Once we get all the Greek dancers out here, we invite everybody to join us in some Greek dancing.”
A portion of the proceeds from Greek Fest will go towards the Y-M-C-A Youth achievement, the Rock River Valley Food Pantry, and the St. Nicholas Shrine at the World Trade Center.
