Rockford Police say they have arrested 60-year-old William Akre, of Winnebago, for drunk and disorderly conduct, as he was allegedly yelling at another driver in a McDonald’s drive-thru. A loaded firearm was recovered from Akre’s car.

Police say the incident occurred shortly after 2 a.m. on Saturday morning, when they were called to the McDonald’s at 3200 11th Street. Allegedly, Akre had been yelling at another driver. Officers say Akre was drunk and failed field sobriety tests.

A gun was found in his vehicle. Akre does not have a valid concealed carry permit.

He was charged with Driving Under the Influence and Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

He has been lodged in the Winnebago County Jail.
