Highland Community College officials and representatives from Columbia College signed an agreement to offer a pathway to a nursing degree.

According to the agreement, students can earn a Associate of of Applied Science Registered Nursing at Highland and then transfer to online classes to attain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Columbia.

Currently, 98 percent of Highland nursing graduates are placed in a job.

“It is the mission of Highland Community College’s Nursing and Allied Health Department to instill a sense of Integrity, Compassion, and Respect in our students as they knowledgeably serve the health care needs of a diverse community,” said Jennifer Grobe, PhD, RN, CCM, CNE, Highland Community College Associate Dean of Nursing and Allied Health. “Being part of the community includes promoting continued education to our nurses after they leave Highland. As a partner in education, Columbia College is offering our graduates an opportunity to continue their education while remaining local.”
