Rockford students had the day off for President’s Day and they celebrated it with one of the most popular Commander-in-Chiefs in U.S. history.

Abraham Lincoln himself took part in the Yes Club’s President’s Day School’s Out Workshop at the Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center.  Known for his public speaking ability, Lincoln delivered one to the crowd.  The event is one of many throughout the year the Yes Club holds to inspire kids to become community leaders.

“It’s my role to be of an encouragement to these young emerging leaders as they move forward,” said George Buss, who impersonates Lincoln.  “They’re on the right track. They need to be encouraged to continue.”
