As the MLB playoffs begin, name the hottest selling jersey from the website MLB.com?
The Giant’s Madison Bumgarner, star of last year’s World Series, would be a good guess. It would also be wrong. So would be Dodgers’ pitcher Clayton Kershaw.
In fact, MLB.com says the best selling jersey online is none other than Cubs’ rookie Kris Bryant, who the site notes “led all rookies in home runs (26), RBIs (99), runs (87) and doubles (31), and he leads the Cubs into the postseason starting on Wednesday against Pittsburgh in the National League Wild Card Game presented by Budweiser on TBS at 8 p.m. ET. (7 p.m. CT).”
Bryant did all of that without playing a full season, as he was called up after playing a few weeks in the minors.
MLB.com notes he is the first rookie ever to achieve the merchandise feat.
