Hungry Man dinners have joined the growing list of foods recalled due to a potential risk of salmonella contamination.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a public health alert for products that may be contaminated with salmonella from whey powder that has been recalled by the producer of the ingredient.

Pinnacle Foods, Inc. recalled 15.25 oz Hungry Man Chipotle BBQ Sauced Boneless Chicken Wyngz with a best buy date of 9/6/19.

The recalled microwaveable dinner have the establishment number EST.P138 or P-138 on the package.

The recall is due to whey powder used in ranch dressing used as a seasoning in the mashed potatoes and boneless chicken that are part of the meals.

The FDA says it is still early on in their investigation and there have not yet been reported cases of illness associated with any of the recalled products and reinforce that the recall is a “cautionary step.”
