The Illinois Treasurer’s office returned a record amount of forgotten cash.
In the past year, the office says its returned $155 million through the iCash program, that’s the largest amount in the program’s 55 year history. More than 53,000 claims were filed, despite the budget impasse.
The office say the average return was $2,900.
