Illinois gets good grades in annual pre-school report

Illinois graded well in this year’s State of Pre-School report.

The state his 8 out of 10 benchmarks that include specialized teacher training and appropriate class sizes.

Funding for students also increased to about $4,200, up from $3,400 last year.

Illinois also received praise for being just one of three states to require bilingual certification for lead teachers working with dual language learners.
