Illinois is not the worst state in the U.S., according to study

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Illinois is not the worst state in the nation, according to a new study by U.S. News and World Report. That distinction falls to Louisiana.

The study graded each of the fifty U.S. states by health care, education, economy, infrastructure, opportunity, fiscal stability, crime & corrections, and natural environment.

Illinois ranked #35.

Washington ranked as #1, followed by New Hampshire, Minnesota, Utah, and Vermont.

Louisiana ranked dead last, at #50, followed by Alabama, Mississippi, West Virginia, and New Mexico
