A Chicago man jumped onto the Dan Ryan Expressway early Friday morning in order to escape being kidnapped after armed men stole his vehicle with him inside.

The victim flagged down state troopers on the Dan Ryan near Pershing around 1:15 a.m.

He told police he had pulled into his garage when two suspects approached him at gunpoint and demanded money. When he said he didn’t have any, they took his car with him inside and told him to direct them to people who they could rob.

All three eventually drove onto the expressway where the man jumped out of his car’s passenger seat.

The 32-year-old victim was not injured. The suspects, with his car, remain at large.
