An Illinois community gave their final salute to a Illinois State Police trooper who was killed in the line of duty.
Hundreds of mourners packed into a South Barrington church to pay their respects to Trooper Christopher Lambert on Friday.
The 34-year-old was killed while investigating a three vehicle crash on I-294 last week.
Investigators say Lambert was standing outside of his vehicle when he was struck by an oncoming motorist.
No one has been charged in the crash.
Police say the driver of the vehicle that hit Lambert stopped and cooperated with police.
Lambert leaves behind his wife and one-year-old daughter.
