Illinois unemployment drops to 12-year low


Illinois’ unemployment dropped to a 12-year low last month. It now sits at 4.4%.

The Illinois Department of Employment Security reports 75,000 jobs were added in April, well above the prior three month average.

Three industries posted the largest gains: business services, manufacturing and hospitality.
