(WTVO) — A 19-year-old British student was on her way home from a trip to Madagascar when she jumped from the plane and to her death.
Alana Cutland was reportedly upset over her “failed” research project which she participated in during a biology internship.
The Cambridge University student was on her way back home after cutting short her planned six-week trip when she plunged more than 3,600 feet from a small Cessna plane last Thursday, according to The Sun.
Cutland is said to have fought off a fellow passenger who tried to keep her in the aircraft.
Police say Cutland suffered “paranoia attacks” during her time in Madagascar and was “mumbling” and “pretty incoherent” in the days before her death, according to her uncle, something her family attributes to the side effects of prescription medications.
Her body has not been recovered.
