USA to take on the Netherlands in Women’s World Cup final

PARIS — The Netherlands beat Sweden 1-0 in overtime Wednesday to take them to the finals of the Women’s World Cup.

The game ended with a 0-0 draw. Jackie Groenen scored for the Netherlands in the 99th minute and the team was able to hold Sweden for the rest of the overtime period.

Tuesday, the U.S. Women beat England 2-1.

The final is Sunday, at 10 a.m. The third place game of England and Sweden is Saturday at 10 a.m. Both games can be seen on WQRF, Channel 39.
