A school in Wisconsin is investigating whether racist chants were directed at the Beloit Memorial Girls Soccer players.
It happened Thursday night as Beloit was visiting a team in Elkhorn. The Beloit coach said some of his players became upset over racial slurs directed at black and Hispanic players. One example of those chants included, “Donald Trump, build that wall.”
“They came off the field and weren’t able to finish the game,” said Beloit Memorial Coach Brian Denu. “They were too upset and distraught over what happened to them. One of the girls was cradled in the arms of one of our assistant coaches for a good 15-20 minutes.”
Elkhorn school officials say it does appear a small group of students did make racially insensitive comments and they’re investigating.
