Janesville authorities looking for information on apartment complex fire

News

The Janesville Fire Department is asking anyone with information on a fire that partially destroyed an apartment complex on Morningside Drive earlier this month to come forward.

The fire, which left eight families without a home, happened the night of Wednesday, October 3, at the Village Green East Apartments at 1616 Morningside Drive in Janesville. It caused a estimated $260,000 in damages.

No one was injured in the fire. A dog was rescued from one of the apartments.

32 firefighters in total responded to the fire. The cause was listed as ‘under investigation.’ Anyone with information they’d like to provide with the investigation is asked to call Fire Marshal Sue North at 608-751-2809.
