Janesville man attacked by gunman outside home

JANESVILLE, Wis. (WTVO) — A Janesville man is lucky to be alive after he was shot at by a man with a gun as he was leaving to go to work.

Janesville Police say they responded to a shooting call in the 700 block of Miller Avenue at 5:30 a.m. Thursday morning.

The victim told police he was leaving his house to go to work when he was confronted by a man with a gun.

The victim allegedly struggled with the suspect, during which time multiple shots were fired. Police say the victim was not hit by gunfire, but did suffer an injury to his hand.

The suspect, described as being of an unknown race, 5’10”, medium build, wearing dark clothing, then fled on foot.

Police are asking to review surveillance camera footage from any residents who live in the area.
