A Janesville man now faces a felony after being arrested for driving drunk for the seventh time.

Sunday night, the Rock County Sheriff’s Office received a call reporting a van swerving all over the road at varying speeds on West U.S. Highway 14 near North Eagle Road. A deputy found the car attempting to turn onto North County Highway E while driving on the shoulder of the road, nearly hitting a guardrail, crossing the center line until finally veering into the correct lane.

The van was stopped and Craig Kruger, 57, was identified as the driver. He admitted to drinking beer at a Verona bar before trying to drive back to Janesville. He was arrested for operating while intoxicated (OWI).

A records check revealed six prior OWI arrests for Kruger. A seventh such arrest is a felony in Wisconsin.
