News
Janesville Police Department

A Sergeant for the Janesville Police Department is struck by a drunk driver while on duty, in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Just before 2:45 a.m., Sergeant Holford was driving east bound of East Court Street, coming up to the East Court St. and South Main Street intersection when a Chevy Silverado, driven by 25 y/o Christopher Huff blew through the red light, ramming into the squad car.
After the crash, Sgt. Holford immediately got out and checked on Huff and his passengers inside the overturned truck.  While Sgt. Holford’s squad car is not salvageable, he is already back on duty.
None one in Huff’s vehicle was hurt, and Huff is being charged with an OWI First Offense and failure to stop at a red light.
