The Rockford Literacy Council received $11.700 in donations, in part thanks to Jersey Mike’s Day of Giving fundraiser on March 28th.
Jersey Mike’s donated 100% of it’s profits on that day to the local charity.
Officials with the Literacy Council say the donations eclipsed the previous year’s fundraiser by nearly $350.
The Literacy Council is a non-profit organization that teaches adults and children how to read.
The money will be used to keep the program running.
Day of Giving is the culmination of the Jersey Mike’s Month of Giving campaign. Last year’s Month of Giving raised more than $5.5 million for charities across the country.
