Juvenile Shot in the Leg on Rockford’s Southeast Side

News

Rockford Police are investigating a shooting on the Southeast side that sent one juvenile to the hospital.

It happened in the 2000 block of 5th Street a little after 8 PM Tuesday. Police say they found the victim in an alley between 5th and 6th Streets. That person was taken to the hospital with what police say are non-life threatening injuries at this time.

A black Pontiac 4 door with tinted windows was seen leaving the scene. Police say it’ll have heavy front end damage because it crashed into a fire hydrant after speeding away southbound on 20th. However — police aren’t sure if that car is involved at this time.

This is still an on going investigation. Police are still looking for suspects.
