Rockford artist Peter Goral decided to make his childhood hobby into a lifestyle, and now he makes toys and custom action figures sold around the world through his company, Killer Bootlegs.
“I feel for some reason that I’m meant to be doing this, because if I hadn’t started doing this, and it didn’t turn into something, that it would have never become what it is,” he said.
Goral is the owner and creator of Killer Bootlegs, which he runs out of his Rockford basement, creating custom made action figures.
Goral never anticipated his company to become as successful as it is. What started as a simple hobby, beginning with collecting toys and action figures, has become a full-time career, with a fan base of over 20,000 followers on Instagram.
Every figure he makes gets sold instantly. He’s sold his figures all around the world, even to celebrities and movie directors.
His talent has been recognized in the toy world, as he was recently nominated as Clutter Magazine’s Artist of the Year for the Designer Toy Awards.
Not many people can say they are doing what they love, but Goral can.
“I feel 100% I was meant to be doing this,” Goral said. “I don’t feel like I would be doing anything else.
