Looking for a job? It appears there are plenty to go around.
The Labor Department says there were six million open jobs in the U.S. back in April. That’s a record high, and that means employers are ready to hire and likely willing to pay higher wages to new workers.
It comes at a time when 6.8 million unemployed Americans are looking for work.
Many may wonder then why they can’t seem to find jobs – critics say that’s due to a number of issues in the current labor market. Among them: lack of skills, unwillingness to move to available jobs or employers having unrealistic expectations.
