Lifetouch Publishing will close its doors in June 2019, costing the city about 150 jobs.

Lifetouch, located at 5126 Forest Hills Court, is a photography and publishing company which is best known for school yearbook photos, was acquired by Shutterfly in an $825 million deal in April of this year.

Shutterfly is closing both the Loves Park facility and another in Bloomington, Minnesota to focus on digital publishing-equipped facilities.

The Loves Park business is expected to cease operations on June 30th.

Shutterfly announced their consolidation plan on Tuesday.

“Today the Company announced it will be closing two Lifetouch facilities in 2019; Loves Park, Illinois and Bloomington, Minnesota, and will consolidate this volume into existing Shutterfly facilities. Given the adjacent peak periods in its Shutterfly Consumer and Lifetouch divisions, the Company expects these facility closures to reduce its reliance on temporary labor while improving the utilization of its existing assets.”
