Cedarville murder suspect opened fire after argument escalated at bar, police say

CEDARVILLE, Ill. - 23-year-old Devin Marcum, of Freeport, is accused of killing two people and injuring a third in an early Sunday morning bar shooting in Cedarville.

Just before 2am Sunday, police say an argument at the Cedar Inn bar escalated when Marcum allegedly opened fire.

When Stephenson County Sheriff's deputies arrived to the Inn, they found three people suffering from gun shot wounds.  Kyle Tucker, 35, was pronounced dead on scene. Shaun Bradbury, 36, was rushed to Mercyhealth in Rockford where he died.

Freeport Memorial hospital treated the third victim, 35-year-old Michael Steinhauser.

Police say they began a quick search for the suspect and located Marcum, who police say was in possession of a handgun that matched the caliber of the weapon used in the shooting.

Marcum was charged with the murders of Tucker and Bradbury and the attempted murder of Steinhauser.

He is being held at the Stephenson County Jail on a $600,000 bond.
