Local event raises awareness for first responders fighting PTSD, carries on name of late deputy police chief

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) – Communities in the Stateline come together to support local first responders.

It was for the annual Greg Lindmark Foundation golf outing on Friday.

The event raises money for confidential treatment for first responders dealing with post traumatic stress disorder.

In 2015, former Rockford Deputy Police Chief Greg Lindmark took his life after battling the condition.

Greg’s family created the foundation in his name to provide education and treatment.

“The community really supports it. We had mayor McNamara, police chiefs, fire chiefs, great support from the whole community”, said Brad Lindmark, from the Greg Lindmark Foundation.

This was the fifth annual Greg Lindmark Foundation golf outing.
