Stateline high school students take a break from the classroom… to experience the real-world.
Jefferson High School students toured 425 Manufacturing, which specializes in several areas including aviation, drilling, and the local food service industry. Some J-Hawks got a chance to see some of that in person. One teacher says he hopes this tour inspires students to pursue a career in manufacturing.
Charles Kluzak, the Manufacturing Teacher at Jefferson said, “Most of these kids are going to go into the manufacturing world and there are so many different things that these companies do. These kids, the more they see they can actually take a look at and go, ‘That’s what I want to do when I grow up.'”
This was all to celebrate Manufacturing Day, which actually happened last week. Other companies hosted students from different schools including Bergstrom, Triangle Metals, and Ingersoll cutting tools.
