Local manufacturing business looking to hire at job fair

News

Even in a strong job market, people are still looking for work.

Dozens of people proved that at an event in Rockford, for the possibility of getting hired where things are made in the Stateline.

Rockford Rescue Mission hosted the fair in conjunction with the mission’s Works! Center.

Local family-owned business Sub Source Inc. was there. It’s deeply rooted in the manufacturing industry.

The company does everything from chemical processing to coatings, to part marking and non- destructive testing.

Sub Source is involved in major industries like aerospace, agriculture, machine tool, automotive and construction.

A company representative says Sub Source’s growth helps its other local partners.

“By us growing our second shift, that means our other, bigger customers that are in Rockford are also growing, and we’re all gonna just keep growing Rockford back up to the manufacturing world that it used to be,” said Kimber James, Sub Source Inc. Office Manager.

If you missed the job fair, but would still like to apply, you can reach out to Sub Source through its website.

The center is open to the public.
