ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — The City of Rockford announced Tuesday that they had received a donation of $700 from James Purifoy, the owner of Rockford hamburger stand 15th and Chris, toward the proposed Family Peace Center.

In May, 15th and Chris created a special hamburger in honor of Mayor Tom McNamara — the Tommi Mac — and donated $2 from each burger sold toward the non-profit family center.

The Family Peace Center is described as a “one-stop shop” for domestic violence and sexual assault victims and their children.

15th and Chris plans to donate a portion of the proceeds from its monthly specials to local area non-profit groups.

15th and Chris is located at 201 15th Avenue.
