After chaos, Build-A-Bear ‘Pay Your Age’ will return

Local News

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — In 2018, stores around the country reported chaos and crowdsas Build-A-Bear promised to have an in-store special offer where how old you are is how much you pay to make a furry toy.

The “Pay Your Day” event was canceled after massive lines caused safety concerns, but the event is coming back this year — with some new rules.

According to Build-A-Bear, the number of people who can get the deal will be limited to around 200,000 people. To participate, adults must be a Bonus Club member and fill out a birthday profile before the June 16 deadline.

Those who receive a Pay Your Age ticket will be able to visit a Build-A-Bear store during one of two redemption periods in the week of June 24 through June 28. One furry friend is allowed per child present with a limit of two furry friends per ticket.

In addition to the event, 10 guests will win the “Count Your Candles Sweepstakes” grand prize of a birthday party experience to use any time within a year.
