ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — A Stateline non-profit donates items to children to promote a healthier lifestyle.
Volunteers from Annie’s Locker handed out athletic shoes, socks and a winter hat to kids at the Fairgrounds and Blackhawk Boys and Girls Clubs.
Tuesday was the organization’s final show delivery this year.
The giveaway is part of the annual fundraising drive “Share a Pair” to help under-served children in the Stateline.
“When you can give a child a really good pair of running shoes, or any kind of athletic type of shoe, that allows them to be able to play more, be participating in sports if they want to,” said President of Annie’s Locker. “They become better students. They sleep better. It’s all very good as far as their lifestyle.”
Annie’s Locker provided 70 kids with shoes, socks and hats.
