ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — If you’re tired of bowling or darts, axe throwing may be your thing — and you’re in luck, because a new axe throwing venue is coming to Rockford!

Big Timber Axe Throwing will open at 4249 E. State Street in 2020.

Urban axe throwing is a growing sport in the U.S. and Canada, in which participants try to hit a target positioned at the end of a large warehouse room.

Yes, there is both a World Axe Throwing League and a National Axe Throwing Federation, in case you’re interested in going pro.
